Honestly, this was a mixed bag for me. The first chapter was great — I felt like someone finally explained the disease without making me want to cry harder. But some of the later chapters felt a bit too light for my taste; I wanted more hard numbers and data. Still, it's a solid starting point, and I've read it twice already. Probably a 4 star for a different reader, but for me, it got a little too 'friendly' in places.

The chapter on diagnosis was exactly what I needed when my daughter was diagnosed last month. The thing about not blaming yourself — I didn't realize how much I needed to hear that until I read it. The questions to ask the doctor list? I literally took it with me to our first specialist visit. It's not a cure, but it's a flashlight in a dark room. I've already bought copies for my in-laws.
