Chapter 1 does a good job explaining how machines work, but once I got to the troubleshooting chapter I wanted more actual diagnostic flowcharts. That said, the business opportunities section is solid and the spec comparisons in Chapter 2 are practical.

Finally, a book that treats washing machines as engineering systems instead of commodity purchases. The opening chapter alone—where it explains why front-load machines extract better than top-load ones through actual physics—saved me from a terrible buying decision for my facility. The whole thing is written for people who actually need to understand this stuff, not just impulse-buy an appliance.
