Finally a book that treats restore disks as a legitimate technical subject instead of a one-paragraph afterthought in a general repair guide. I really appreciated the detail on UEFI vs legacy boot and the part about testing a disk before you actually need it -- that section alone is worth the price. My only gripe: the chapter on future trends spends a little too much time on cloud recovery, which most small shops can't use anyway. But the core chapters on types and troubleshooting are excellent, and I have already applied the driver-injection workflow on a client's machine. Solid value for a working tech.

Decent reference, and it does cover a range of restore disk scenarios clearly, but I felt the tone was overly cautious in places. For example, the troubleshooting chapter is good on how to read a boot failure, but it stops short of giving firm 'try this first' guidance. Someone with moderate experience will know what to do, but a newer technician might still be stuck after reading it. Also, the glossary is fine, but the chapter on brands felt more like a taxonomy than actual buying advice. The first three chapters are strong, so it is not a bad book. I just expected more definitive answers.
