The book treats fixtures like infrastructure, not disposables. Worth every penny.

Really solid reference. The specification chapters and the installation walkthroughs are practical and clear. My only complaint is the business opportunities chapter feels a bit thin—I wanted more depth on service contracting margins and how to build recurring maintenance revenue. But overall this is the best unified resource I've found for fixture knowledge.

As a lighting designer, I appreciate that this book doesn't assume I'm an electrician and doesn't assume I'm a consumer. It treats fixtures as real products with tradeoffs. The long-form explanations in Chapter 1 made sense to me in ways spec sheets never do. Would've liked a bit more on color rendering and specialty fixtures, but it's a solid handbook.
