This book saved me from a costly mistake. I run a small hardscape company and always just bought the cheapest galvanized staples at the big box store. It's important, but it made the start slow. The later chapters on maintenance and purchasing were exactly what I needed. A good reference, just a slow start.

Finally, a book that treats landscaping hardware with the seriousness it deserves. The author breaks down the difference between galvanized and stainless steel without being a bore, and puts the information to work immediately. I used the installation spacing chart last week on a job and the fabric looks much tighter than with my old method. I docked a star because some of the business advice in the later chapters felt like it could apply to selling anything, but the technical stuff is spot-on.

I'm a landscape designer and I've had enough clients call me about floating fabric that I needed to get serious about the fasteners. This handbook filled a real gap. The comparison of different head styles and how they affect pull-through resistance changed how I spec materials. The FAQ section is incredibly practical.
