About this book

Bridal accessories are a multi-billion dollar market segment, yet most information available to the professional is either a manufacturer's marketing brochure or a stylist's aesthetic opinion. This handbook bridges that gap. It provides a deep, practical grounding in the materials, construction, sizing, and care of every major accessory category—veils and headpieces, jewelry, belts and sashes, shoes, hair accessories, and lingerie. Readers will learn how to identify a well-made piece, how to measure a client correctly, and how to price a product or service with confidence.

The book is structured for real-world use. It moves from a foundational understanding of the category, into detailed specifications and selection criteria, and then into hands-on installation and troubleshooting. Later chapters address the business side: understanding the supply chain, differentiating between budget, mid-range, and premium brands, and identifying viable opportunities in reselling, renting, and private-labeling. The final sections provide an honest look at emerging trends (including sustainable materials and sizing inclusivity) and point to the kinds of industry resources—associations, trade shows, and certification bodies—that a serious professional should know.

It is not a style guide. It is a reference manual: the kind of book you keep behind the counter to check a metal finish, a thread count, or a return policy. Whether you are training a new employee, negotiating with a supplier, or repairing a delicate heirloom veil, this handbook provides the clear, neutral, and actionable information you need.

I bought this for my shop's reference shelf and it's already earned its keep. The chapter on materials actually helped me explain to a customer why one pearl necklace was worth four times the other, and the troubleshooting section saved me a headache when a client's veil got snagged two days before the wedding. The only reason it's not five stars is I wish the brand profiles were a little more specific about current wholesale pricing, but I get why a print book can't stay current on that. It's thorough, neutral, and much better than the manufacturer flyers I was working from before.
