Real talk about the daily work, pay, and path into web and digital interface design — before you invest your time and money.
About this book
You've heard that design jobs are "creative" and "in demand." But nobody has told you what a typical Tuesday actually looks like — how much time you'll spend in Figma versus in meetings, how often you'll defend your decisions to a project manager, or why you'll end up becoming an unofficial expert in browser quirks and accessibility guidelines. This guide gives you that unfiltered picture, along with the numbers: what entry-level really pays (and what "senior" means in dollar terms), which industries hire the most, and how long it actually takes to land your first role.

★★★★★I've been going back and forth on whether to switch careers from graphic design to UI design, and this book gave me the straight answer I needed. Chapter 1 alone was worth it — the breakdown of what a day actually looks like (including the boring parts like stakeholder reviews) was so much more real than the YouTube videos I'd been watching. The salary table in Chapter 4 convinced me the move is worth it, but the self-assessment in Chapter 2 made me pause and think about whether I'd actually enjoy the collaboration-heavy side of the work. I'm now 90% sure this is what I want to do, and I feel way more prepared to start my bootcamp search. It's not a fluffy career guide, that's for sure.
