About this book

You've seen the job listings: 'Career/Technical Education Teacher, Postsecondary. Associate's degree preferred. 3 years industry experience. Apply now.' But that posting doesn't tell you what it's actually like to stand in front of a classroom of adult learners at 8 AM on a Tuesday, or how many hours you'll spend grading competency checklists, or whether the advertised 'competitive salary' covers your rent in the city where the job is. This guide fills in those gaps.

★★★★★

It's a solid overview for someone like me who's thinking about leaving the trades for teaching. I appreciated the salary breakdown by experience level and the chapter on licensing — that was the most confusing part for me. It does get a bit dry in the middle, and I wish it had more real interview transcripts, but it's way more useful than the generic career site articles I found online. Good enough that I'm going to use the checklist in Chapter 2 to make my final decision.
