First Day
Welcome. If you are reading this, you are probably someone who has looked at the back of a Wi-Fi router and felt a small, specific kind of curiosity. It's a mix of "I should know what these cables do" and "I'm afraid to touch it in case I break the internet." That feeling is exactly where you are supposed to start. This is not a textbook, and this is not a boot camp. This is a ten-day experiment to see if networking is something you actually enjoy doing, not just something you think you should know about.
Today, you are not going to configure anything. You are not going to type a single command. You are not going to learn what a subnet mask is, and you are definitely not going to be quizzed on the OSI model. Today is about one thing: getting your hands on the physical reality of a network and realizing it is just a bunch of boxes and wires that you are allowed to touch.
Here is what your first session actually looks like. Find your home router and your modem.
