You need a clear table, about an hour, and a little patience with yourself. Let's be honest about what you should expect to feel. The first time you pick up a pair of jewelry pliers, they will feel slightly clumsy. Your fingers will not know where to rest. You will probably squeeze too hard, grip too firmly, and wonder why people on YouTube make it look so effortless. This is normal. This is the actual beginning. For today's session, you only need three things: a pair of round-nose pliers, a pair of chain-nose pliers, and a small pack of jump rings. If you do not have these yet, do not panic. A craft store sells a basic pair of each for under ten dollars total, and a pack of jump rings - those little circular metal rings that hold jewelry together - costs about four dollars.
