First Day: Your First Session
Let's be honest about what you're about to do: you're going to throw a pointed metal object at a round board and try to make it stick. That's the whole game. But there's a difference between knowing that and actually standing three meters away from a board, holding a dart for the first time, and feeling your brain and fingers try to figure out what to do together. That's what today is about. Not winning, not scoring, not even hitting the board consistently. Today is about getting your body used to the idea of throwing a dart, and finishing the session with one small, real win that makes you want to come back tomorrow.
First things first: you need a place to throw. Ideally, you have a wall with about four feet of clear space in front of it, and a floor that won't get damaged if a dart bounces off the board and hits it. A garage wall, a basement wall, or even a hallway in a house you own (or a rental where you're brave) works. If you have an actual dartboard already—maybe it's gathering dust in a closet—great. If not, what you're doing today is a little trickier, but not impossible. You can use a thick corkboard, a cardboard box filled with foam, or even a stack of old newspapers taped together, as long as it's soft enough for a dart point to sink in and stay. But
