A wheelbarrow part is not a commodity item to be purchased by visual match. It is a load-bearing element in a mechanical system, and its failure or incompatibility compromises the entire machine. The entire assembly is deceptively simple: a tray to hold the load, a frame to distribute that load, an undercarriage consisting of an axle, bearings, and a wheel, and a pair of handles that serve as the fulcrum for lifting. But within that basic architecture, there is enormous variation. The way a tray is gauged, the shape of the frame, the type of tire, and even the diameter of a handle grip determine whether a wheelbarrow is a light-duty homeowner tool, a contractor workhorse, or an industrial machine that can move a ton of concrete. Consider the most common failure on a commercial job site: a flat tire. A beginner sees a flat tire as a simple puncture. A professional sees a sequence of potential causes and specific decisions. Is the tire a pneumatic type that requires a tube, or is it a tubular (tubeless) tire that relies on an airtight seal between the tire bead and the rim?
