A throwing star is a multi-pointed, flat or slightly curved missile weapon designed to be gripped, thrown, and rotated in flight to strike a target with edge or point impact. It is fundamentally different from a knife or blade: a throwing star derives its damage potential from rotation and kinetic energy rather than from a single sharpened edge, and its geometry is engineered to maintain stable flight through multiple rotations over a predictable distance range.

What a Throwing Star Is Made Of
