A security safe is a physical container engineered to resist a specific set of attacks for a specified duration. It is not a magic box, and it is not indestructible. It is a timed defense system that delays a thief or a fire long enough to make the attack unprofitable or to allow for intervention. The decision to buy a safe is a decision to manage risk, and understanding that risk is the first step in making a wise purchase.
