Remote control planes are miniature or small aircraft piloted by radio signal from a ground-based transmitter. The operator holds a handheld controller with joysticks and switches; this transmitter sends radio pulses to a receiver mounted in the aircraft. The receiver decodes those signals and moves servos—small electric motors with built-in feedback—that control the plane's control surfaces: ailerons on the wings for roll, elevators on the tail for pitch, rudder for yaw, and throttle for engine or motor power. The result is a flying machine that responds in real time to human input from the ground.
This is not a new concept.
