Understanding this core structure is the first step to evaluating, solving, and even monetizing puzzles effectively.

For the purposes of this handbook, the focus is on physical puzzles that are sold as products, primarily jigsaw puzzles, but also including 3D puzzles, mechanical puzzles, and brain teasers. These are items with a physical footprint, a manufacturing process, a material cost, and a point of failure.
