What a Protractor Actually Does
A protractor is a straightforward device: it translates the angle between two objects into a number you can read. The most common form—the semicircular protractor—is a half-circle of metal, plastic, or paper, marked with degree graduations from 0 to 180. A center hole aligns with the vertex (the corner point) of the angle.
