A pot or pan handle is often dismissed as an afterthought, a simple appendage that provides a place to grip. In everyday home use, that perception might persist. But in a commercial kitchen, a high-volume catering operation, or a serious hobbyist's workshop, the handle is a critical mechanical component. It is the only part of the cookware that a person touches while the rest of the vessel might be at 200°C or hotter. It must withstand not only heat but also repeated mechanical stress, chemical exposure from cleaning agents, and the casual brutality of daily use. To understand what a handle actually is, you have to move past the idea of it as a simple grip. It is a structural interface. It transmits the forces of lifting, carrying, pouring, and shaking from the human body into the cookware itself. Those forces are not trivial.
