To understand what motor vehicle parts actually are and why they matter, you need to start with a simple question: what are they for? The answer sounds obvious—to make the vehicle go—but it's incomplete. Motor vehicle parts serve three overlapping purposes. First, they convert fuel or electrical energy into motion. How Parts Function Within Systems
