Model train accessories are the components that transform a basic circle of track and a locomotive into a functional, operating miniature world. The term encompasses dozens of distinct product categories: track and roadbed, power supplies and controllers, turnouts (also called switches), couplers, decoders, signals, buildings, figures, trees, lighting, sound modules, and automation sensors.
