At their most basic level, tissues accomplish a simple task: they capture moisture and particles from the face or hands, do not irritate skin, and dispose cleanly. What Tissues Actually Contain
The primary ingredient in virtually all facial tissues is cellulose fiber derived from wood pulp. The pulp comes from either virgin (freshly harvested) softwood or hardwood trees, or from recycled paper. Virgin softwood pulp—typically from pine or spruce—produces longer fibers that create stronger sheets. Hardwood pulp produces shorter fibers that create softer sheets.
