An air hockey table is a recreational game table powered by an electric blower motor that forces pressurized air through thousands of small holes drilled into the playing surface. That air layer—typically 1/8 inch thick or less—reduces friction between the puck (a plastic disc weighing between 0.5 and 1 ounce) and the table surface to nearly zero. Two players use handheld paddles to strike the puck and attempt to score by driving it past their opponent's paddle and into a goal opening at the table's far end.
