Chapter 1: What Does a Quality Control Systems Manager Actually Do?
Imagine you are standing on a factory floor. It is 7:40 on a Tuesday morning, and the line that assembles electronic control modules for commercial refrigerators is humming at about 85 percent speed. A machine has just flagged 14 units from the last shift with a solder joint that is 0.2 millimeters thinner than the engineering specification allows.
